Provision of nutritious food in Anganwadi centers operated under Women and Child Development Department -
• In total 84465 Anganwadi Centers and 12670 Mini Anganwadi Centers are approved under 453 child development projects operated in the state. Around 80.00 lakh beneficiaries are being benefited from supplementary nutritious food in the above approved Anganwadis. For the provision of supplementary nutritious food in Anganwadi centers, 50 percent of the amount spent by the Government of India Department of Women and Child Development is provided.

• As per the new norms set by the Government of India, a provision has been made by the state government to provide supplementary nutritious food to the children of 06 months to 06 years and pregnant/nursing mothers, children of extreme weight, per beneficiary daily as per the new criteria

(1) Children from 06 months to 03 years / pregnant female mothers: -
At present Anganwadi centers operated in the state, children between the ages of 06 months to 03 years, pregnant/nursing mothers as per the decision of the Council of Ministers in the financial year 2019-20, through the MP Agro, State Rural Livelihood Mission, and other providers, during the division-wise week The food items are being given on different days as follows 05 days.

(2) Children from 03 years to 06 years: -
In the child development projects of rural areas, there is a provision to provide morning breakfast and lunch to children between 03 years to 06 years as a supplementary nutritious diet as per the following menu separately.
Daytime breakfast
There is a provision for providing nutritious food to children aged between 03 years to 04 years in child development projects of the urban area through local self-help groups, as per the menu of the Sanjha Chulha program.
(3) Third mile for children of maximum weight from 06 months to 06 years: -
There is a provision to give ultra-low weight children in the Anganwadi center from 06 months to 06 years as a third mile as per the lunch menu on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday as per the menu of breakfast.
(4) Supply of milk to children from 03 years to 06 years: -
To improve the nutritional level of children in Anganwadi centers, the Madhya Pradesh government has its own financial resources to provide sweet fragrant skimmed flavored milk to children between 03 years to 06 years under mid-day meal program in all Anganwadi centers / sub-Anganwadi centers. Starting from July 2015 on 03 days of the week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). Each child gets 100 ml of milk according to the prescribed method with 10 grams of milk powder. Milk is being prepared.
(5) Kishori Girl Scheme: -
Kishori Balika Yojana is being implemented in all the districts selected by the state government as per the criteria set by the Government of India. Under this scheme, provision has been made to provide supplementary nutritious food to the girls aged 11 to 14 years in Anganwadi centers as a take-home ration on 06 days of the week as follows.

Monitoring of nutritious food distribution system, sample check system:-
• There is a provision to monitor the quality of freshly cooked morning breakfast and lunch being served in Anganwadi centers by the Gram Sabha Healthy Village Ad Hoc Committee at the local level. Apart from this, the quality and regularity of nutritious food is reviewed every month by the monitoring committee constituted at the block level under the chairmanship of the Subdivisional Officer (Revenue).
The test of the quality of the takehome ratio is conducted every month from the laboratory of the Food and Nutrition Board of New Delhi, India.
• The State Government has included supplementary nutritious food programs in Anganwadi centers under the MP Lokseva Guarantee, under which, every eligible beneficiary has been ensured to be provided supplementary nutritious food in prescribed quantity per day.
Provision has been made to prepare Panchnama at Anganwadi centers so that every beneficiary receives fresh nutritious food (under fresh hot food/take-home ration).
In the Anganwadi centers, 50% of the amount spent on arranging supplementary nutritious food is provided by the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of India.
• Allocation of wheat/rice at BPL rate is provided quarterly under the wheat-based supplementary nutritious diet by the Government of India, Women Child Development Department. For the provision of supplementary nutritious food in Anganwadi centers, the food grains received from the Government of India are reallocated and made available online every month through NIC / Civil Supplies Corporation to the Takehome Ration Suppliers and Self Help Groups.
